Ascari Enoteca is currently looking for an experienced Garde Manager/Tournant Cook to join our passionate and experienced kitchen team! We are a pasta and wine bar located in Leslieville, serving handmade pastas and southern Italian dishes for over seven years. We are driven by our passion for food, wine, and people. We value a respectful work environment for all employees and strive to create memorable dining experiences for every guest. We are open for dinner service seven nights a week.

If you have 1-2 years of high quality and relevant garde manger experience and enjoy working in a positive, team-oriented environment, we want to hear from you! This is a full time position, starting in a garde manger position, with the opportunity to grow and learn on the hot line in pasta. This position is ideal if you are wanting to learn in grow in the area of Italian cuisine and fresh made pastas!

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble ingredients for menu items
Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to prepare and execute dishes during service
Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
Rotate stock items as per established procedures
Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift

Qualifications
You have 1-2 years experience as a Garde Manger or Cook position in a professional kitchen
You are aware of proper food handling procedures and execution techniques
You are able to work as part of a team, in an open kitchen environment, with strong communication skills
You follow direction well and have a desire to learn and grow in your craft

Food handler certification an asset

Compensation
$16-17 based on experience
Weekly Back of House tip out
Family meal before service
