Chaudière Lodge is currently seeking a seasonal Head Chef for our busy resort. Chaudière Lodge is a northern island resort, steeped in history established in 1909 on Ontarios legendary Upper French River. It is located 90 minutes SE. of Sudbury, 4 hours N. of Toronto. The main lodge is comprised of a lounge, dining room and kitchen accompanied by 14 cottages set on 17 acres. Maximum occupancy is 44 guests.

The position of Head Chef is an essential one in the successful operation of the Chaudière Lodge and requires the employee in this role to be passionate about cooking, knowledgeable in food preparation with the ability to create a high-quality product. The employee must have experience ordering and managing food inventory as well as minimizing food waste while working within a budget. The Head Chef must be safety oriented and meticulous, independent, trustworthy and able to manage a dining room with the maximum capacity of 50 people working with a set menu. Experience in this position is necessary. This is a seasonal position and would run from Mid-May to Mid-October.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing current menus
• Supervising kitchen and crew ensuring it runs safely and efficiently
• Ordering and maintaining inventory
• Preparing three high quality meals daily for 20-50 people
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment

REQUIREMENTS
• Knowledge of cooking procedures and methods
• Team player with great communication skills
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures
• Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs

The Head Chef position will be a salaried position and is negotiable dependant on experience. The successful candidate would be required to provide their own uniform and stay on-site in staff accommodations. Staff accommodations are in a well-kept building comprised of 10 rooms, separate male/female bathroom facilities, and a staff recreation room with satellite TV and a screened in porch. Meals are provided in separate staff dining room.
