About Hucks Marine & Resort

We are a full-service marina located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Rockport (Ontario) in the middle of the beautiful Thousand Islands! We love where we work and what we do, and our main goal is to create an environment that is fun and relaxing for our boaters, guests and visitors.

Some general qualifications include:

? Must have a can-do attitude and a strong desire to learn;
? Must be willing to work a flexible schedule for the season, including weekends, holidays, overtime, split shifts and varied time off;
? Must be comfortable working near and on the water or boats, as well as working outdoors; and
? Strong communication skills are required.

About the Positions

We are looking for summer students to assist in all aspects of our operations: dock attendant; Concierge Service assistance; boat cleaning, buffing, waxing and detailing; grounds and building maintenance; and yard support.

Some of the tasks you will take on are as follows:

Seasonal Dock Attendant
• Fuel-up and pump-out boats at the Fuel Dock;
• Dock and secure vessels at the Fuel Dock;
• Provide outstanding and friendly customer service to all customers of the Marina;
• Conduct dock checks in an effort to maintain current information regarding the status of all customer dockage;
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of docks, walkways, parking lots, pedestrian areas, restrooms and other designated areas;
• Provide customer service in chandlery and water toy sales department and perform cashier duties.

Concierge Service Assistance
• Work at, and assist with the coordination of, Hucks Concierge Events, including customer appreciation breakfasts and holiday events;
• Work at, and assist with the coordination of, Hucks Customer Appreciation Events; and
• Organize, implement and assist with all Hucks Concierge Services, including laundry and dry-cleaning collection and drop-off and garbage/recycling pick-up from docks and boats.

Yard Support; Grounds and Building Maintenance:
• Perform daily inspections of restrooms and Marina facilities to assess cleanliness, needed supplies and/or maintenance problems;
• Clean Marina facilities, including restrooms, change rooms, sauna, steam room and gym;
• Clean and tidy the Student House;
• Mow lawns and assist with minor landscaping duties;
• Report hazardous or unsafe conditions immediately to the appropriate manager;
• Assist with moving, launching and hauling of boats, including acting as spotter; and
• Assist customers with parking and coordinate the parking of customer and guest vehicles.

Boat Cleaning, Buffing, Waxing and Detailing:
• Assist in cleaning, buffing, waxing and detailing of customer and Marina-owned boats.
