We are looking for fun and enthusiastic Cooking Instructors to join our new summer cooking day camps for children aged 5 and up. Our camps are conveniently located in Toronto and we will be expanding to various locations in the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Markham, Oshawa and Thornhill. Applicants should have hands-on experience in recipe development, team management, and day-to-day operations in a busy kitchen. You will be an integral part of the kitchen team, responsible for teaching children various cooking skills and dishes, prepping ingredients with the children, maintaining the kitchen and work space, supervising equipment use, monitoring and ordering supplies and keeping camp activities on track throughout the day. Work Hours:
Summer hours of work are full-time: Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Fridays (for a total of approximately 45 hours per week.).

• Teach children cooking techniques and kitchen terminology
• Run various recipe demonstrations for children
• Coordinate camp activities throughout the day
• Follow a defined prep list or set of tasks assigned by executive chef
• Communicate professionally with students, staff and parents
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, storage areas and kitchen

Necessary skills and experience:
• Culinary Arts certificate or its equivalent is an asset
• Experience working with children
• Must work well in a team environment
• Ability to handle busy summer camp schedule
• Good communication skills when dealing with children
• Experience teaching is an asset
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities and keep children on task and motivated
• Flexible and easy-going with a sense of humour
• Proactive, reliable and safety conscious
• Will need to complete a Police Reference Check (which will include a vulnerable sector screening) and be cleared before working with children
• Standard First Aid / CPR training, will be required
