Overlander Mountain Lodge & Jasper East Cabins
Reports to: General Manager
Staff Reporting to the Front Desk Manager: Front Desk Attendants

Summary of Position
Oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, cleanliness and sanitation of the Rooms Department.

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks
• Management of all front office operations of the Overlander Mountain Lodge including Guest Services, Front Office Accounting, and Reservations.
• Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment
• Manage room reservations to maximize room revenue and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Ensure accuracy of Hotel reservations.
• Manage 3rd party Bookings like Expedia, and Independent Traveler
• Manage the administration and deliverance of Guest Services.
• Responsible for accuracy and completion of front office accounting including daily cash-outs for the front office and food and beverage department
• Complete accountability to guests including resolving of any complaints or requests
• Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs
• Preparing weekly Front Desk Schedule according to scheduling procedures. Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met
• Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
• Ensuring communication with outside parties by email is up to date and accurate.
• Ensuring the complete training of new staff for Front Desk duties
• Be knowledgeable of lodge policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent
corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures
• Fully understand and comply with all regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the lodge, employees and guests.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance.
• Maintain Front Office Employee Files
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and preventative maintenance
• Ensure maintenance and room issues are resolved by communicating with Maintenance and Housekeeping
• Ensure accuracy of Group Blocks and the releasing of group reservations
• Ensure the chalet contracts are being processed and accurate
• Data Management
• Maintenance of Lost and Found
• Provide feedback on operation of Dining room
• Provide advice and suggestions to general manager as needed.
• Development and maintenance of front office department manual
• Maintenance and ordering of office supplies

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
Be able to reach, bend, stoop
Must have the stamina to be able to work 50 to 60 hours a week during peak periods

Terms of Employment

Compensation: Salary.
Hours: Evenings, Days, Weekends-Flexibility essential
It is clearly understood that the acceptance of this position may require extended work periods and hours.
Holidays: Two weeks paid holidays per year.
