Job Title: Food & Beverage – Catering Supervisor
Pay: $13.00/hr.
Department: Food & Beverage
Status: Full-time, year round

Primarily: To ensure all administrative responsibilities pertaining to all catering affairs. Assist in supervision of catering events and Great Hall operations as required. Maintain and create catering menus, packaging and sales with the assistance of management and Resort and Department Chef’s. Working with Marketing and other departments to ensure events are organized optimally and executed efficiently. Meet with clients and guests to promote and secure sales. Issuing of invoices and following up on payment.
Secondarily: To assist in all of the F&B operations for the Great Hall and Catering events. You will be responsible for putting the Wow in every guest experience on a daily basis. This is a leadership position where you are accountable for developing and leading a team that creates exceptional guest experiences. You will also play an integral part in and are accountable for high product and service quality and consistency, revenue levels, cost controls and standard operating procedures. You have an attitude to complete tasks and projects, by attaining the desired goal and lead by example. This is a diverse position that changes as the seasons change in the resort. The schedule for this position also fluctuates to meet the demands of our guests, resort events and management team.

Essential Functions:
General:
• Responsible for FOH operations in the Great Hall and Catering Events
• Nurture positive and professional communications between all employees
• Maintain an open and honest two-way communication to any and all departments
• Participate in required operational meetings as requested by the manager
• Help the outlet manager in developing promotional programs that include food and beverage, guest services, interdepartmental and employee incentives
• Completing in full, opening and closing procedures and responsibilities
• Leading and assisting in ensuring all area’s of the Great Hall and catering are permanently kept, clean tidy and presentable according to the requirements of Strata, Management and Senior Management.

Administration:
• Working with Catering attendants to perform the following: scheduling events and managing catering schedules, creating BEO’s as per client requests, creation and delivery of contracts, processing of invoices and balancing accounts with SMS and POS
• Working with S.M.S to perform the following: Creating client accounts for function charges, processing payment and balancing accounts with POS
Staff:
• Provide ongoing training for catering & food & Beverage employees
• Directly supervise Front of House – Food & Beverage employees
• Assist in scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary action, termination procedures
• Support employees needs to ensure their happiness to result in excellent results
Product:
• Quality is the best it can be
• Handling of all types of food products
• Correct pricing – Display and on POS
• Displays and display areas are sanitary, clean, presentable and well stocked at all times
• Carry out and monitor routine record keeping, product ordering and period inventories
Financial:
• POS use, training and instruction
• Transaction processing, daily cash-outs, float control
• Labor & inventory tracking
Catering:
• Set-up, tear-down and resetting of any and all function rooms
• Transaction processing and documentation for stock for all events

Experience/Requirements:
• Related post-secondary education - Hospitality or Food & Beverage Management
• Must have hands-on experience as bartender, server and cashier & Serve it Right certificate
• Min. of 2 years of supervisory experience in a Food & Beverage outlet
• Previous Catering experience & events planning
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Thoroughly familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of Profitek POS system & experience in inventory ordering
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Excellent people skills including the ability to resolve customer satisfaction problems & Strong attention to detail
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for 9-10 hour shifts
