Details of Position: Maintenance Customer Service

Mature individual wanted for seasonal Maintenance position at mountain campground
(end of April / May 1 to early/mid-October)
Applications will be taken until May 1 or until the position is filled.

Sundance Lodges, Kananaskis is located in the Rocky Mountains less than an hour from Calgary / Banff.
Nearby activities include: hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, fishing, horseback riding,rock climbing.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Grade 12 Diploma; plus further education in a trade or equivalent experience.

Essential: Fluency in English
Willingness to work with owner on a variety of projects.
Flexibility & willingness to work outside the boundaries of job description, if required
Physically fit & able to perform all such physical tasks as required.
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact around the campground with guests & other staff.
Basic knowledge of tools and their uses (tools provided)
Must have own vehicle & Class 5 Alberta drivers license.
Strong work ethic.

Assets: Experience or knowledge in related maintenance areas (mechanics, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, farm work, generators) but on-site training can be provided.

• Self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision; problem solver.
• Ability to manage diverse workloads, demands and effectively multitask

RESPONSIBILITIES Position includes but is not limited to various maintenance work as well as a variety of tasks that enable Sundance to provide a great experience for our guests. Multi-tasking is often necessary.

•Contribute to the ongoing upkeep & maintenance of the campground buildings, sites and property.
Assist Owner with major repairs (mechanical, carpentry, etc..); completion of basic repairs
Report to the Owner on completion of all projects and tasks as assigned as well as any problems.

• Evening security checks around the campground to ensure compliance with quiet hours.
Owner will train and help.
Positive interaction with coworkers, management and guests at all times.

•Cover shifts in the store as needed: cashiering, check-in, customer service, stocking, cleaning, etc.. (usually about 1 evening shift a week); teamwork with other staff.

GENERAL
Time off is during the week. Some split shifts. Work averages 8 hrs/day and 5 ½ days per week over the season.
Accommodation is in a holiday trailer shared with no more than 1 other person of the same sex.
You will be cooking for yourself. Trailers have power. Washrooms a short walk away.
Cost of $100.00 per month for accommodation deducted from paycheck.
Start date: end of April / May 1; End date: early/ mid October; when takedown & winter prep is done
Wages: $14.50 - $15.50/hr depending on training & experience. Also 25% store discount, laundry discount.
You are camping for the summer! We live off the grid with our own generator.
