Our galley staff is responsible for providing all meals to our passengers using our preset menus. We prepare everything on board, following our ships cookbook. Our cooks are required to do all kitchen prep, dishes and galley cleaning. Inventory is also required every third day of every trip. Organization, cleanliness, good communication skills and the ability to work with others in a close environment is required for this position. Must also hold the Smart Serve certification.
Season: All jobs from April 30 to October 12.
An employment contract is to be signed.
Rotation: Most cruises are for 5 day duration.
All crew rotate working 2 cruises on and 1 cruise off, which means normal rotation is 10+ days on and 4+ days off (reporting for duty by 2:30 pm at the ship on the fifth day).
Transportation: Our van transports crew going on and off rotation between Orillia and the ship, whether it is Ottawa, Kingston, Peterborough or Big Chute.
Hours: Each cruise (5 days) includes 49 hours work time-tabled according to the ships routine.
Pay: Rate of Pay $11.50 per hour (no deduction for room and board or uniform)
Room: Crew live aboard ship and share a 3 berth cabin.
Training: Crew training in ship safety and regular duties will be conducted from April 30 to May 14.
